Oh, and I can't imagine Johansson has finished with Marvel movies. I think she'd be a natural fit for Cap, or at the very least an Avengers sequel.

According to this, a Hulk sequel might be on the cards based on the character's success in the Avengers movie: http://bit.ly/IKC4pC

Can she even be done with Iron Man movies? Wasn't Iron Man 2 when it came out that Marvel was signing people to 8 movie contracts?

Jacksons now been in 4 films.
I'd say that once Nick Furys done his rota Cap will be the guy to link the films together.
It's possible that Downey Jr and Hemsworth signed multi-picture deals as well. I know Downey Jr renogiated his contract after Iron man 2.
EDIT: Nope. Was wrong. Six pictures - which Evans said he assumed would be 3 Caps and 3 Avengers films.

Rocket Raccon has to be in it, as does Groot. I reckon John Leguizamo would be a good bet to voice him.
Starlord - Nathan Fillion (he's going to have to be suggested for someone!)
Drax - I dunno, Vin Diesel maybe.
Adam Warlock - really can't think for this one.
Gomorrah - the lady from that Sodeberg film is badass enough
I think they need as many human characters in the film as possible, I imagine they are looking at all the failures of Green Lantern and will not want to repeat those mistakes. Then a again having decent CGI and a script would put them above GL straight away.
Forgot plenty of folks, Phasar, Captain Marvel, Starhawk, Vance Astro, Nova etc
Oh, and who would you have to voice N mocap Thanos?

So to be in Iron Man 3 he either signed again or did a deal for Avengers seperately.

I have an urge to slap you. I don't want Rocket to have a squeaky voice, he should have more of a low growl (but not Ving Rhames low - that's for Groot).
Starlord will be a challenge to cast. You need someone with charisma to burn and an easy smile as they're carrying the whole movie. There's very few guys who could do that. It's the Luke Skywalker role - a unknown character leading a huge summer blockbuster movie. It'll transform someone's career. I could see them going younger, seeing as they'll have CGI characters in it like Groot and Rocket, so I could see someone like Jamie Bell playing the role. If I had my dreams come true they'd cast Jai Courtney. Of my default selection - either of the Supernatural guys.
Honestly though, and I hate to say this, it's the kind of role LeBeef would be born to play. Guardians has to be funny, and Starlord has to be a screw up for the premise to work.

Have you heard Jim that Abnett and Lanning are doing a new cosmic book at Boom? Off-topic I know.
Brad Walker on art too: http://www.comicbook...rticle&id=38094

That's a shame if true.So a couple of weeks ago when I saw one of the Avengers trailers, I questioned Stark's reference to Thor as a "demi-god." And I've just noticed in the opening titles of Earths Mightiest Heroes, Thor is called the "prince" of thunder. This is to avoid upsetting fundamentalist Christian types, isn't it.

I could have said Joe Pasquale!
I must admit I like the idea of Rocket having a gruff voice, in my head he sounds a bit more rodenty though. I love the idea of having someone relatively famous to voice a character that pretty much can only say his name!
Gina Carano was the person I was thinking for Gomorra, she's summed up in a comment I found on her Maxim page "I'd hit that, but she might hit me back"
I reckon the Beef would be a better Jack Flag, not sure he'd pull off the hair though!
Randy Quaid was born to play Adam Warlock!

So they team up, escape, lose a couple of prisoners along the way (but they keep the deaths to a minimum because it should be a fun movie) and steal ship - Starlords original craft, along with the Starlord gear anointing him with special Starlord powers. As they're escaping they discover Thanos's plan to make the infinity gauntlet and so they agree to form the Guardians to save the universe. And in the basement of the ship they find the Warlock cocoon - Adam emerges at the end (maybe saving their asses from a big bad sent to get them - I'm thinking Terrax or Morg) and we move on to the sequel.
Story written, check please.
In terms of casting:
Rocket - He always comes off as exasperated in the comic, one step away from pissed off, so I'd have him sound like a New York taxi driver. The's the star of the show, and will have all the best one liners, so make him grumbly.
Groot - He's the new Chewbacca. Michael Clark Duncan voice, only says I am Groot, and only says it once near the end of the movie.
Star Lord - the nearest thing they can get to Chris Pine.
Mantis - Alexis Bledel. Needs to be fragile/delicate and not quite with it. So when she fights it's a revelation. She's the new Princess Leia.
Drax - nearest things they can get to the Rock.
Gamora - Gina Carano seems to be a popular selection, but I don't know if she can act. I kinda like the chick from The Mummy Returns in this role.
Bug - I don't know whether to play him as some stoner, or as a kinda annoying never-stops-talking guy who steps up when he needs to. With the second option I like Jamie Kennedy in this role.
Jack Flag - should be older than Star Lord - he's the Han Solo. I'm a big Timothy Olyphant fan, and I think he could play that kind of role perfectly.
Adam - This is the biggest change from the book. Adam needs to be funny, not so somber and serious. Think Leeloo from the Fifth Element. He's a newborn, but incredibly powerful - the anti Infinity Gauntlet. The universes answer to Thanos. And of course he ultimately needs to face the Magus in the third movie, so the actor needs to play both innocent and sweet and viscous and evil. I'd cast Chris Pratt from Parks & Rec as he's a gifted comic actor.
No Phylla or Moondragon. And no Vance Astro - he'd look weird on screen and his origin is a mess. Plus he's not needed as you have Jack who's mostly the same character type.
