Is "Quim" such an obsolete archaic turn of phrase that Joss can have Loki effectively call Black Widow a "C*nt"?
Hulk's petulant last wee dig at Thor . . .
Loki expecting that Hulk is going to listen him orate . . . "Puny God".
Wanna see Joss do the next Hulk movie with Ruffalo . . .

SO many geek-out moments... the Heli-carrier lifting off, Iron Man vs. Thor, Hulk vs.Thor, complete with Hulk trying to lift Mjolnir! I nearly let out a squeal at that moment.
I guessed Loki's accomplice was Thanos, but it was still a great moment. Of course, what they should start setting up now is Thanos collecting the Infinity Gems, and they need to get Guardians of the Galaxy off the ground pretty damn quick.
I loved that they set up each of the main characters so well, apart from Thor, whose return was just kind of glossed over. He didn't really have much to do at all in the movie, and he even got owned by Hulk.
I liked the first half better than the second half, but at least nobody can complain that the action wasn't up to much this time round.

That was the smallest lie he told in the whole movie.
EDIT: That was one of many things I liked about it - you never knew quite where you were with Fury, or indeed Natasha.

Eh? I got that . . . it just seems that when a character lies still . . . staring with blank eyes . . . after being stabbed right through the chest . . . and doing his soliloquy . . .and then the eyes are closed . . . no coming back from that one . . .Well it would have been nice to have confirmation at the end, but he clearly isn't dead. Fury stole the cards from his locker - he said himself, the Avengers needed a little push - they needed someone to avenge.

There was a med-team right there - they could have zapped him back to life. People have "died" for longer than that in real life.

Yes, but in the Movies someone tells their last tale . . . let's out a breath . . . stops moving and just stares out of dead eyes . . . they're dead . . .I guess we won't get confirmation for awhile as its still a pretty big spoiler for a movie just opened . . . if we hear he's going to be in Iron Man 3 I guess that'll answer that . . .There was a med-team right there - they could have zapped him back to life. People have "died" for longer than that in real life.

Like you said, Coulson has been phenomenally popular, so there's now way they'd kill him off.

Needless to say, I loved it. The momentum was fantastic - the movie really built and built to that remarkable finale. I also really dug the way that Whedon embraced the more fantastical nature of superheroics. Where previous Marvel movies have taken the (understandable) tactic of starting small and grounded before leading it's audience by the hand into the more comic-booky concepts, this one takes it as read that the audience now "gets it" and just goes headfirst into the cosmic stuff.
The characters were spot on and, just like in the Avengers cartoon, everyone gets their moments to shine. Hiddlestone's Loki was if anything even more Loki-ish in this than in Thor - the arrogance, the playfulness, the endless manipulation. Black Widow also feels more "in character" than in her previous outing, and greatly benefits from the extra focus on her character (feeling very much an equal to the "big guns").
And speaking of "in character", Nick Fury's moment with the trading cards was so very, very Nick Fury! I'm inclined to believe Coulson is dead - as much as Coulson's become a part of the movie-Marvel furniture, Fury using a colleague's death to his advantage (or rather "for the greater good that he doesn't trust anyone else with") like that is the sort of dirty play I like to see in that character! He is the spokesperson for "the ends justify the means"...!

I had my doubts about him directing this, I must admit, but if nothing else I'm glad he wrote it. I can't imagine anyone else but Whedon referencing something like LMDs.

Loved the movie from the "slow" build-up of the team till the end with the huge fight scenes against the Chitauri's (too bad they didn't copied the entire concept, but I guess that would confuse the casual persons)
I agree that the "He's Adopted" was one of the hugest laughs on the room, but the Hulk "slapping" Thor away after both defeated a lot of aliens was the Most Laughed-Out moment in the session I was in.
I think Coulson's death may be undone in future films since it's not completely sure he's dead, we just have the confirmation of Earth's Prince of Lies: Nick Fury.
Although I was ecstatic with the movie, after leaving the room after the final bonus scene of Thanos (thank you Marvel, for not putting this scene after the Final Credits... I think after the first set of Credits is more appropriate and many people saw this scene thanks to that) the people I went with, being mostly casual fans, and although they liked the movie a lot, made a point regarding the balance of the team, and said they didn't understand what was so great about Hawkeye and even Captain America and Black Widow. They really liked Iron Man, Hulk and Thor, but said that the others just didn't have a way to move much, and didn't do a lot because of that. Basically they didn't liked that Hawkeye was just standing on top of the building shooting arrows...
And in a way I guess the movie shows a bit how unbalanced the team is, and show a bit that Hawkeye is not as cool as he's supposed to be...
