How I fucking hate computers. Posted Image And the terrible language and incomprehensible lingo the programming people put in their stupid program thingies.

Some program is telling me "unloading user registry hives might take a while." Ummm...yeah I'm sure it might. Tell someone who cares about user registry hives, and the unloading thereof...

Sitting in bed with a very upset baby, neither by wife or I are really sure what the matter is. Hopefully he isn't just crying for the sake of it.
I think we may be missing this sleep, hopefully he'll settle before midnight.

Watching Barcelona-Chelsea. John Terry really is quite the idiot, isn't he?

Not that I'm complaining, mind.

Yeah what a twat. Chelsea were lucky to go through after that.

Seriously considering going to art school. I've been thinking of switching jobs, but am having a hard time choosing where to go next (I work as a programmer/sysadmin). My father in law sat me down and tried to get to work through an exercise meant to get me to make a choice. And the conclusion I came to was that all else being equal, I don't actually want to be in IT at all. I've drawn since I was a kid, strictly as a hobby. And now here's my wife offering to support us if I want to go to art school. My in laws offered to have us live with them for a while if we wanted to downsize and save money. The support I've gotten has been unbelievable.

I don't want to have my wife support me, or take advantage of my in-laws' generosity, but I've come to the conclusion that I do want to make this change. For now I'm staying put at work. I get paid well, and the work is interesting. But I'm going to spend my spare time trying to me the switch.

It's the kind of thing that happens a lot. The main attribute of new parents is that they're tired. Good luck where that is concerned, mate.

That is a very difficult decision, giving up the certainty of a well-paid job for something else that you'd love doing. I hope it all turns out well, Ricardo.

On a different note, I have just assembled an ABBA karaoke CD.

This is not something I expected I would ever do.

I'll take Does Your Mother Know or Voulez-Vous. If anyone wants to do Super Trouper, I'll happily sing back-up.

Sod it, I'll do it anyway. Su-pa-pa, trou-pa-pa.

Thanks, Christian. I'll be smart about it, but I feel I have to give it a shot or forever wonder what if.

Here are my two Facebook updates from this morning. It's been a weird one.
The guy dressed as a giant inflatable cup of coffee outside of Tim Horton's was dancing so hypnotically in time with the Daft Punk song I was playing that I missed it when the light turned green.

Right now outside the Army/Navy store there's a state trooper talking to someone in a full Ghostbusters costume with proton pack.
