I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE SHOUTING ABOUT!

(but I don't care. I must see this film. Charlize Theron Guard is on form as bossy lady - she'd make a good proper Emma Frost - and even though there's very little Fassbender in the trailer, the viral vid of him makes me need to see this film)

I'm still hoping the trailer doesn't give away as much of the story as it seems to.

I think I've said before, I'm not too concerned, not as much as I used to be.

'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' cured me of that a bit. I knew the plot, in pretty good detail, from the trailer and it was a still a really good film to watch.

Yeah, it's less that I feel like I know too much going in and more like, if that's all there is to the story, it's not exactly a lot.

Then again, it doesn't have to be. Alien had a pretty simple story, as well.

I do wonder if it ends with the Prometheus aliens winning the day (having transformed the crew into their species), only to be slaughtered by the Xenomorphs at the end of the movie. So the pilot we see in Alien was actually a crew member of the Prometheus. That'd be sort of obvious on the one hand, but a fun thing to do in a prequel on the other.

Yeah, it was a while back.

It's pretty cool, but Pearce is overdoing it a bit there, I thought.

That hadn't even occurred to me, but it makes sense. It does seem as if more than one person is infected this time - both Noomi Rapace and her partner appear to have something attached to them at various points, and it seems to be Sean Harris who's running amok in the bay of the Prometheus.

One thing that bugs me about the trailer - why are Idris Elba and Charlize Theron landed with accents that aren't their own? Elba does an unconvincing southern US drawl, and Theron seems to be attempting an Irish accent. Unless it's essential to their character, why bother? It's just jarring.

Hm. Yeah, that's weird, especially considering that their native accents should provide enough globalist plurality...

My non-native-speaking ears mostly don't notice when they're a bit dodgy (you have to go the full monty with me, like the "Irish" people in Heroes), so I don't really mind.

Theron's accent sound Irish to you? I just thought it was a US accent.

Like I said, the part where she introduces herself and says "it's my job to make sure you do yours" sounds as though she's attempting an Irish accent...

I'm not sure if I've ever been as excited for a movie as I am for this one. I need to see this now.

This looks like it's going to be awesome. I think this is the only film that rivals Avengers for my excitement level. I mean, even a new Batman and a new Spider-Man don't quite match it and I'm a massive Spidey fan!

And that shot of what looks like Sean Harris lunging at a crew member while on fire has to be one of the most visually striking things I've ever seen.

Apparently, this is a future where no one's seen a scary movie in their lives.

Rule No. 1: When you receive a "lifeform reading," everyone should stand as far away as possible from it.

I agree it does look good. However the trailer seems expertly cut to create a sense of nigh-unbearable excitement, which can always be a bit anti-climactic when taking that impression into the movie.

The thing that sort of bothers me is that it really seems like just another Alien movie, with an added twist. Of course that doesn't have to be a bad thing.

There was a plot synopsis released a year or two ago that was "debunked" by the producers, but the more they show us, the more it seems like whoever released it saw at least one draft of the script.

According to the people of the internets, this is an audio morsel from Prometheus (obviously is, from the preceding trailers) that was released backwards and later uploaded by someone else fixed. It sounds like this:

Here's another version of the same audio clip. This time instead of the clip just being flipped, it's been edited so it appears to run in a more chronological order.
