Because the old thread was closed.
New viral video...
And a reminder to no-one in particular that other unrelated metaphysical musings have their own thread.

Fassbender had a lot of fun on this movie didn't he?

"David, what makes you sad?"
Wonder if that's a bit of foreshadowing there...

Fassbender is just great! That’s some very nice acting there, teetering on the edge between subdued and hammy. Every single second of the trailers and additional promo material has looked brilliant so far – I can hardly contain myself. As much as I’m looking forward to The Avengers, this and The Cabin in the Woods are my most anticipated movies of the year.

Oh I have no doubts about that, but in the service of what cause?"David, what makes you sad?"

David's moral compass is something that seems to be set by his owner/employer? He could be Ash or he could be Bishop, depending on what he's programmed for?

I wonder if they're anatomically accurate.
"Those early models were always a little twitchy."

The more I see of this character, the more I think Scott is setting him up to confound our expectations based on what we know of androids in the original Alien. I'd be willing to bet the sinister nature of these promos is misdirection.

I thought that, but Cameron already did it in Aliens.

Yeah, I guess so.
It's nice still knowing so little about this movie. If I had to choose one movie that I could see at the cinema this year (and having a very young daughter, I don't get to see many these days), it'd be this one.

these promos are great. not entirely convinced that they didn't just build an android that looks like fassbender though.

David is sniffing at flowers too much to be trustworthy.

He is a sort of walking HAL-9000.

Fassbender reminds me of Peter O'Toole for some reason...

Prometheus looks a bit like a souped-up Firefly class ship. Loves it!
also, I notice that this trailer mentions Scott as The Director Of Alien. The more secretive earlier trailer that ran before Avengers the other day didn't mention Alien, at all. Also, great interplay between the line "An invitation from who?" and the credit "From Ridley Scott"
I am so excited for this film.

Intense music, intense people. I can tell this is going to be an intense movie. They can all yell very well!
