I'd be incredibly surprised if there isn't a box set of Iron Man/Incredible Hulk/Iron Man 2/Thor/Captain America/Avengers out just in time for Christmas.

I think Incredible Hulk has a different distributor, but they could probably do the rest.

Edit: Actually, I think Avengers has a different distributor to the rest too. Maybe they'll sort something out?

They have three distributors:

- Iron Man 1, 2 , Captain America $ Thor -> Paramount.
- Inc. Hulk -> Universal
- Avengers -> Disney

I'd love to see how many people bought them this week, in the run up to the release - I've bought Cap, Thor and Iron Man 2 in the last week, and I suspect I'm not alone.

Yep, I realised that I hadn't got around to actually buying Thor and Cap so bought them for my pre-Avengers rewatch a couple of weeks ago.

MovieTickets.com reports that, with just over a week until the U.S. release, the superhero actioner ”is pre-selling more tickets for the upcoming release than the online ticketing company sold for Captain America, Thor, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man combined at the same point in the sales cycle for each film. In fact, pre-sales are over 1 1/2-times that of these past Marvel films combined sales at the same point in the sales cycle”. Avengers is selling 3,995% more tickets thanCaptain America, 1,034% more tickets than Thor, 114% more tickets than Iron Man 2, and 1,406% more tickets than Iron Man at the same point in the sales cycle. MovieTickets.com reports that 56% of Avengers pre-sales are from fans wanting to see the film in 3D.

I've never pre-purchased a movie ticket in my life, but I might have to for this weekend.

I think I'll go to a 2D showing. 3D rarely does it for me and this doesn't really look like a movie that would be all that enhanced by it.

I think you'll be safe skipping the 3D. One of my workmates was talking about it and said the 3D was pretty good but then I also got a text from my sister who said the 3D made it hard to focus on some of the larger scenes.

Yeah the 3D isn;t really worth it. Some neat stuff, but nothing extraordinary. And yeah, it did make some of the fight scenes extra difficult to follow.

I liked my 2D showing and was concerned how the fight in the woods (hey no spoilers they released it all online weeks ago) would look as it's pretty dark.

I didn't have much of a problem with the darker scenes this time - it was more that certain 3D aspects were distracting, like the plastic strip curtains in the compound where Loki's minions are working.

Definitely preferred it in 2D.

Okay, so there officially is a second post credits scene attached to the US prints. And I assume will also be added to international prints this week too. I wonder how many people in the theater might leave after that mid credits scene?

Did you book that ticket Jim?

I'm trying to find a gap in my afternoon schedule to go and see it again next week. I can't quite go with best film ever but best superhero film ever is a done deal. After giving up on Hulk films Feige now says a third one is back on the cards after the response to this.

I'd actually like them to "Marvel Team Up'" it all though, let's see the Black Widow in Cap 2 and The Hulk in Iron Man 3 etc.

Apparently not. We have to wait for the DVD I think. (Though it doesn't like we're missing that much.)

Mark Ruffalo was signed to appear in six movies as the Hulk, so it's possible he could turn up in an Iron Man movie...I agree, that would be awesome.

Yes it's a bit of a misconception how manual that whole process is outside of digital projection that is still in the minority.

When the Iron Man premiere left out the extra end credits scene I remember one poster here saying that was far too expensive to cut and show later. In fact they did and all they really do is just cut with a knife or glue things on. My old pal that runs a cinema cut Gremlins by 33 seconds and got a lower certificate from the local council, glued them back on later and sent it back to the studio. They glue the ads on at the start.

So to add a scene to a film that's already in the cinema is a logistical nightmare, cutting is quite easy. After waiting a week it seems the North American audience will get an extra but yeah I've read what's in it too so I'm not going to cry about it.

I didn't. I can't make the midnight show (I have a team meeting with my European guys every night at midnight) and the idea of Friday night crowds didn't appeal. So I'm going tomorrow afternoon. Luckily I live within 10 miles of 5 cinemas, so when we looked as showtimes we found the movie was starting somewhere every 10 minutes from 11am tomorrow. Even with that I expect things to be really busy.
