Val Kilmer would have made a good Peter Parker.

Kilmer was great in Tombstone, I do agree.

Gary Oldman can't be miscast.

So how about Hasselhoff as Nick Fury, eh?

They should have picked him to play Aunt May.

Val Kilmer as the Lizard.

Gary Oldman would have been terrific as Aunt May!

Val Kilmer as The Vulture.

Tom Cruise as J. Jonah Jameson.

Abe Vigoda as "The Kid".

Is it just me or does Guy Pearce look like he's played by Val Kilmer, by the way?

ahem...

Real Genius

Favorite Kilmer role, even over Tombstone.

And I LOVED The Saint.

But, going back to the original title of this thread....

HOW IN GODS NAME DID THEY LET SOMEONE CAST RYAN REYNOLDS AS CONNOR MACLEOD?!?!

I mean c'mon! Not casting Gerard Butler is like not casting Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, or Patrick Stewart as Professor X...

I'll reserve judgment on Reynolds as The Highlander, but on the surface it seems like a very odd choice (other than he's popular with the ladies). Butler could make for a good villain in the movie, at least.

To hell with that. Just get Clancy Brown again, he's just as scary as when he was young.

Butler isn't? Damn, even Christian Bale...he's going to need a new franchise gig after this one, right?

Reynolds is an odd choice, I guess they couldn't find a mumbling Frenchman to play a Scotsman this time so they had to go with a Canadian instead.

Hopefully there's a Scottish actor available to play a Egyptian pretending to be a Spaniard.

I don't think Reynolds will work very well for this. I enjoy the comedies he's in and think he's very likeable but he's not a very good actor.

By usual Highlander standards he would be required mainly to have a dodgy accent.

Reynolds is one of my favourite actors, but I'm not really sure he's Highlander material. But then, Highlander is crap, so maybe that's not a bad thing.

Good actors in bad films = Highlander.

I seem to have slipped into a dark and twisted parallel universe where there are people who think Highlander was a bad film Posted Image
