Seeing as the movie thread is in full swing I thought i'd start this one.

As I have already said I wasn't hugely into the movies, I am however a gamer and always interested in games.

My personal favourites were, X-Wing Alliance, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast (Dark Forces 4) and the more recent Force Unleashed.

I used to really enjoy the multiplayer in JK2 as you could run and gun but you could also have saber duels and once in a duel you were protected from other players. Force Unleashed was just a wet dream including force powers.

So what were your favourites from the extensive list?

Games with the characters in count in my book Ewan.

Then I think I'd have to change my vote to Soul Calibur IV, the fun I had being to small to hit when playing as Yoda is unmatchable on most games Posted Image

LEGO Star Wars . . . about my level . . .

I love the LEGO SW games - loads of fun to play and wonderfully funny. Haven't played the third one though (is that a clone wars one).

Only other SW games I can recall playing are the Force Unleashed ones. They were alright but nowt special. Loved the level in one of them where you got to play as Vadar and force choke dozens of chewbaccas.

Actually, now I think about it I'm sure i played one of the Super Star Wars games at my cousin's house on the SNES many years ago. It was fun too (but brick hard).

Then I think I'd have to change my vote to Soul Calibur IV, the fun I had being to small to hit when playing as Yoda is unmatchable on most games Posted Image

What a horrible person you are. I bet you'd be the kind of gamer that'd pick Oddjob in a Goldeneye 64 deathmatch.

Cheat!

Sounds like Empire Bruce.

This was the reason I bought a GameCube 10 years back!

I was forever dropping into Virgin at Piccadilly Circus to try it out! Then when I bought the game, I found this gem later on:

I have yet to ever manage to complete either the Battle of Endor - bastard TIE Bombers - or Strike At The Core levels. I don't care because I still get to blow up a Death Star and later a Star Destroyer.

The Razor Rendezvous level does make Star Destroyers very big scary bastards indeed!

I am lying. I have also played:

The Star Wars RPG was fun in the hands of a GM with a big enough imagination (I played with one who got it and one who didn't). The game mechanics were a bit limited but suited the style of the source material. The Star Warriors game had brilliantly clever rules mechanics which were a pig to actually use. If you didn't have a hotshot pilot, you basically couldn't do anything worthwhile.

Think it might have been Empire, Ben. I have vague memories of misery and snow.

Yeah, those levels were brutal, with instant death points all over the place and few restart points!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

LEGO Star Wars . . . about my level . . .

Probably the two I'd have said as well.

I really loved Battlefront II though, spent many an hour playing that, even online (where I was rubbish) and on modded maps. Even tried building my own map for that one.

Still quite tempted by the Empire At War RTS game and the Republic Commando game.

I never tried Republic Commando, at the time by PC rig was elderly and barely played anything beyond Half-Life. I did hear a lot of good things about it.

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast on the Gamecube gets my vote, it felt like it went on forever. The sequel, Jedi Academy on the original Xbox was brilliant as well. I do have very fond memories of playing Star Wars Episode I: Racer on the PC with a massive joystick when I was a kid, the big joystick just made it feel so much more authentic and fun.

Republic Commando is one of my all time faves, clones just don't come any more badass than that.
And it got a very nice story with good highs and heartbreaking lows. (And it manages to pull all that off without you ever touching a single light sabre!)
