Watched Derek. Mainly the wife wanted to watch it as she finds Karl hysterical I however was worried I'd find this horribly offensive. As it was I enjoyed it. I wouldn't have ever classed it as a comedy. Had a couple of funny moments but was more touching than anything.

Yeah i watched that to, and i thought it was pretty dull.

It didn't have any big laughs, and scenes like Derek falling in the little pool and the pub scene where just plain stupid. And the bit at the end that was meant to pull on the heart strings just looked ridiculous, mainly because of just how over the top Gervais had went with the character leading up to it.

Watched the finale of Justified last night. Felt it was definitely the best one so far with just the right mix of action and pathos. The very end is absolutely heartbreaking.

Probably my second favorite show right now, behind Breaking Bad...

This season has been brilliant and the way they did the ending was genius.. Justified seems to be the show that just has the perfect combination of action, drama, and comedy

Shameless, the US version. Gave up on the UK show after 2-3 years, but I really like the remake (except for William H Macy, most of the time).

Just back from CABIN IN THE WOODS. AWESOME.

Agreed. Felt a lot like an unused plot for a BUFFY episode that they just let go all out to the extreme.

Well that's the best review I could imagine for a film! :D

Busy weekend but i'll be seeing this next week for sure.

This morning I am watching Katy Perry videos on 4Music.

It's early and I had a late night. Sue me.

Yeah, when I said "This felt exactly like a double episode of Star Trek TNG" about Insurrection that was totally a positive review...

While I'm on the phone and email this morning I've had the 'Matrix Trilogy' extras on the DVD player.

If only the films were as good as the BTS material.

we need to talk about kevin. i think it was a good film, could have been better, but tilda swinton was great, and finally, a movie where the child actor actually looks like the older version. take note, true grit!

i wasn't fond of the more purposley artsy shots, they were unnecessary, and it felt like the guy portraying kevin tried a bit too hard to be a psychopath, but the story of the mother was an interesting and important one. the only thing worse than losing a child to a murder is being a parent of a child who murdered.

Did it have the MTV movie awards parody of Reloaded on it? That's my favourite thing about the Matrix sequels, hands down. Although I can't watch Morpheus' speech in the same way again...

I just finished the 1st season of The Killing on AMC. I really enjoyed the show, more than I thought I would. It was pretty well acted and was shot pretty well. I am looking forward to watching this 2nd season currently airing.

Saw two comedy horror movies last night. First up was Cabin in the woods, which I thought was fun but deeply flawed. It's good for a laugh but little else and failed when it tried to be a horror movie.

Next up was Detention, which just blew Cabin in the Woods out of the water (woods?). I'll be up front this is a love it or hate it kind of movie and you'll know in the first five minutes if you're going to enjoy it. Personally I find its weird mishmash of ADD self-aware horror, sci-fi, romantic teen comedy movies hilarious. Like Cabin in the Woods it's never actually scary but it also never really tries. And unlike Cabin in the Woods, which despite its humor, takes its plot very seriously Detention never does which smooths over its rough edges and plot discrepencies.

The saddest part for me was that Cabin in the Woods audience was packed while Detention had literally 10 people in the theater. I certainly hope it finds cult status when it hits DVD.

Just watched the first couple of episodes of Young Justice. I expected it to be quite light and fun, especially since it's about teenage heroes, but everyone's terribly serious all the time, and walks around with a frown on their face. Does it lighten the hell up at all later on?
