Made the mistake of watching The Darkest Hour earlier. I spent the whole time rooting for the poorly cgi'd aliens.

Bad film, really bad.

And I'm not sure why the aliens are so unimpressive? Most of the FX in the film are pretty good, some are very good, but the aliens look like a rejected toy design.

The real problem though is the writing; the characters are dull and they do some very stupid things.

The most annoying thing about the movie was that appalling piece of product placement for Converse.

We all laughed when that came on. I think it made the movie better :D

'Our Food' on BBC2.

A selection of expert presenters explore and explain the history and present day practice of food and farming in the UK.

God it's boring so far. It's not even making me hungry.

Catching up on The Killing season 2, I like it... I think they recovered everything properly from how they left off last season

Red Heat. Not exactly a classic Arnie flick but daft fun.

'Escape from LA'.

I haven't seen this in years and it looks very, very cheap. Cheaper even than 'Escape from New York'.

continuing my new Who catch-up. On to Season 4/Series 7,230 now, and just got the first part of the Sontaran 2-parter. The Donna/Martha meeting was fun. I really like Donna as a companion. So far, and I imagine this will continue, I appreciate Eccleston and Tennant but they never feel quite as dark as Matt Smith, and when they act "zany" I feel like they're acting zany, as opposed to Smith's 11th Doctor, who genuinely feels super f"(%!^& crazy, and equally like an evil old cantankerous man with the heart of a child and the mind of a genius. Basically, 9 and 10 are playing the doctor, 11 IS The Doctor. For me at least. I do like me some Rose, and Rose's Mum, and even Mickey and Donna's Grandad though.

I watched this tonight as well. I particularly liked the absurd sound of him punching Soviet gangsters in the opening scene.

I never realised punching someone in the face sounded like someone hitting a park bench with a lump hammer.

Maybe you haven't punched enough people in the face?

I'm watching the Superman / Batman: Public Enemies movie. Meh, the animation kind of sucks and it's not as fun as the comic either.

Watched Shame last night. It gets a little carried away with itself at times, i could've done without the prolonged new york, new york scene. But it's a solid story with great performancs, especially from Fassbender who does a fantastic job of showing just how crippled he is by his addiction.

And i wonder just how comfortable the actors are filming those sex scenes. Especially the one at the end with the two girls. It's like one shot away from being full on hardcore.

Watched the finale of Justified last night. Felt it was definitely the best one so far with just the right mix of action and pathos. The very end is absolutely heartbreaking.

Watched Derek. Mainly the wife wanted to watch it as she finds Karl hysterical I however was worried I'd find this horribly offensive. As it was I enjoyed it. I wouldn't have ever classed it as a comedy. Had a couple of funny moments but was more touching than anything.

Yeah it's pretty amazing. I think I may have liked season 3 even more than season 2 but can't make up my mind.
