Switch your damn iPhone off before the film starts or you will have breached the code of conduct.

Reminds me of my favourite line from last weeks Community... "She was born in the 80's - she still uses her phone as a phone!"

Don't worry. I killed anyone who may have witnesses my transgression.

Bruce: I really enjoyed the movie!

It was quite interesting when I watched Cabin in the Woods yesterday. There were only about 15 people there, I normally only see blockbusters here, and this was a relatively obscure film, I had to drive an extra 20 minutes to get to the cinema that was showing it.

This was a dedicated cinema fan crowd and everyone behaved impeccably. No chat, no texting, no phone calls, no munching on load snacks. The great news is they have eased up on the censorship here. They used to have zero swearing (which they just mute out) and no nudity or sex but when I heard the f-word in X-Men First Class I dared to try an 18 rated film (18 rated here at least). There was a small cut in the sex scene in the woods that was obvious but I think they left the rest intact.

Oh I was responding more to your instruction to turn the phone off - you don't turn an iPhone, or any smartphone off - you just silence it.

Believe me, I fully subscribe to The Code.

I don't own a smartphone as I don't have any need for one so I am hopelessly naive about the whole thing. Either way yeah I put my shitty Nokia phone on silent too.

yeah, i just put my phone on silent. i won't actively use it, but i like to have it on in case of emergency. some things are more important than people's enjoyment of films.
