hello all.
We have a thread for artists so it's only fair we have one for writers.
So, what are you up to? And how's it going?

Currently writing one script for an alternative history/fantasy piece. Main issue is I have a big two page spread that sets up the city it all takes place around and I want it to foreshadow locations from later.
Developing a mini series idea as well and writing a children's novel slowly.

Have a few long form projects on the brain at all times, but focusing on finishing short scripts right now. I wrote a bunch of horror scripts over the last few months that I really enjoyed working on. Now moving on to some sci-fi stories, which are a lot of fun too.
Working shorter than my last batch of stories (6-8 pages as opposed to 10-15) which is difficult, but interesting. I think I'm improving all the time, and writing looser and faster, so I feel like I'm on the right track, at least.
The last script I finished was at the request of an artist whose work I'm completely in love with, and really look forward to seeing how that turns out. Looking for artists all the time for my scripts, always eager to make some comics.

I have finished my first self published anthology. I am writing two shorts for two other anthologies. Waiting on a few others.
I've finished the 24 paged 1st issue of Kung Fu Hobo. Currently waiting for my artist to tell me how he's getting on. Gonna work on issue two and other creator owned characters. I'm toying with the idea of publishing them in future issues my anthology, if the anthology generates enough interest.
Also I'm trying to write my 1st feature script.

writing this post, I think it's going ok but trying to improve it all the time. Bit annoyed with the story structure so far - aiming for a kind of 'fly on the wall' in the moment kind of piece you know?

Putting the finishing touches on my own Future Noir story (yes, I can't believe I've not finished it either!)
I'm working with an illustrator to produce a fantasy OGN, a cross between Ghibli and Neil Gaiman (or what I think feels like a Ghibli/Gaiman type of story).
After one of the above is done I'll be working on an idea I've been developing over the past week.

Weel, it's early to talk about it, but I'm writing a space story about the secrets of the universe.

I actually haven't wrote anything creative in two weeks or so. I've been working on the flat colors for my comic series on Kickstarter.com
I plan on finishing up my story for Future Noir very soon! Also I wanna work on my character and story called American Savior.

Finishing the middle act of the plot for a miniseries I've been dumping notes about for almost a year. No rush, letting it cook. In a week or two I should have a complete skeleton and will then start scripting issue 1. With a clear view of this issue and every other following, plot-wise, I should have a much easier time then with anything else I've written before.
Hoping my artist doesn't move to greener pastures when I'm ready, he's bloody talented, but I don't want him to know, he wouldn't ever dare work with me

A WFH comic project that I'm very behind on and can't seem to synch with.
A WFH comic project that I'm really ahead on and want to finish the first volume, but I have to finish the first project.
A few TV specs- 2 established, 2 creator owned.
Editing and working on 4 creator owned comic projects. But most of the heavy lifting is done on most of these.

Working on scripts for my ongoing series "Wulf" which just recently got picked up by Ascendant Comics (see the associated thread if you wanna check it out).
Plotting out a treatment for a graphic novel idea I came up with a couple of months ago, a groovy locked-room mystery story.
My Future Noir story "Better Adjusted" is with Mikus Duncis, and its coming along nicely in my opinon. Georg Sonne is getting started on the lettering.
My story "The Globe" is with FutureQuake comics.
I've got a couple of ideas for feature films ( a horror story called "A House Like This" and an action-drama called "Why This War?") with some production companies, watiting for word back on them.
Drafting a few TV script ideas, on hold for the moment due to my commitments on "Wulf".

Just finished a short story for a shared universe anthology.
The problem is, I have no interest in the universe background nor much confidence in the people running the project. I'm trying to decide if there's a way I can say I want to keep my story. (Of course, they might reject it because it doesn't fit their background (or because they think it's rubbish), which would solve the problem.)

I'm juggling two scripts for graphic novels set in the same shared continuity. In between lettering and colouring stuff, that is.
How is it going? It's HARD! REALLY REALLY HARD!
I've spent the better part of two months over one chapter of the second GN, which has resolutely destroyed my hopes of working as a writer on a freelance basis. But it's worth it for the feeling I have that I've assured the quality of the work.
By contrast, the other arc that I'm writing has come together pretty quickly - although it still needs a lot of re-structuring and planning to make it hang together properly.

Seems like everyone is being very productive, which is great to see!
I'm currently in production on my crime/heist comic, The Undoubtables, which will be solicited in 2013. 88 pages of script have been written and are now with the artist.
My 32 page Time Travel story, The Temporal, is currently being drawn with 5 pages hitting my inbox today. Always exciting.
I pitched to 3 different anthologies over the weekend and hope they enjoy them enough to allow me to attach artists.
Lastly, I'm currently writing issue 2 of a 4 issue sci-fi series dealing with overpopulation and how a futuristic society may go about controlling such a problem.
Lots of writing and project management, but never a dull moment!

Continuing with KEEPER of course ( http://keeper-comic.com ).
Continuing on with my series in progress with Alwyn Talbot called DISCHARGED. More on that soon enough. Have hired an editor for that even.
Maybe / maybe not continuing an all-ages SF webcomic I was collaborating with a co-writer and an artist -- written script but art has stalled on it.
Thinking something for that SKULLKICKERS thing. If not, I have elements from that I can lift for something else.
Other various and sundry things that don't quite have a shape yet.

Working on 'Overrun' with co-writer Matt Woodley, and with artist Paul Green, Lettering by Troy Peteri. Which is still up for grabs publisher-wise
though Bleeding Cool thinks highly of its potential!
Also developing the spin-off series for [Forty-Five]45 - with BlueSpear in the bag already and on shelf, we're planning now for the 2nd book 'X'.
Also working on a movie script.
Somehow I'm also trying to fit in a normal life and a wife and kids around all this...

I have now decided to find an artist for my latest idea/story I created. American Savior. I know I had Adam of MW do a sketch for me. So I have a couple of sketches to base the character off of. Now off to find an artist....and find my money to pay them.

Thanks for the thread Alice!
I'm struggling to get any new projects done right now as my work and my life are wearing me thin. So far I have the 52 page Vol. of World's Worst written, working to raise the funds but that's waiting on a motion comic and for me to tweak the website. I have about 2 and 1/2 issues of Eye, Hand and Voice written, which with luck may have at least one issue finished by the end of the year (my partner Nick is donating his time which is truly fantastic of him, as he pencils for a living). Trying to get a few five pagers done, one for Futre Noir and two for Future Quakes, but they aren't going so well. Wish me luck.
