That green screen work is REALLY impressive. I couldn't get into Caprica but I may give this a shot.

It's only a TV movie for now. It does look better than I expected though, so maybe it has a shot at being picked up.

It does. I just don't know how much I'm interested in pre BSG stories. Caprica didn't get me interested at all. And it appears from the cast list that Saul Tigh isn't going to make an appearance. Not sure I'd follow a TV series, but for just the movie I'll certainly check it out.

This looks absolutely brilliant. Would definitely check this out - in whatever format it becomes available in.

I never did get into Caprica...but I'm actually entertaining the notion of watching it.

I'm just about finished with a thorough rewatch of Galactica (just finished ep 10 of s4 where they find the 13th colony and 4 of the final 5 are revealed to the fleet). Where as, when it ended the last time I watched it (which was as it aired), I was ready for it to end. I was ready to see the conclusion. But now - t-minus 10 eps to go...I don't want it to end. The characters are so compelling and rich, and few shows have achieved the type of character growth we saw in this. The soundtrack has few rivals in epicness. I really am kind of sad to see it coming to an end.

So that said - I'm very much anticipating finishing it, watching "The Plan," which I passed on before, dipping into Caprica, and then looking forward to watch Blood & Chrome at some point! Hope this happens.

Saul didn't meet Bill Adama until after the war, I think.

Saul and Bill met b/w the 1st and 2nd Cylon wars. They fought together in the 2nd.

The second Cylon war was the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, correct?

And it's dead, as a series at least: http://www.deadline....cancelled-syfy/

Blood & Chrome, initially envisioned as a Web series, was greenlighted as a two-hour TV pilot in October 2010. Because of intensive post-production, including special effects, the pilot was not delivered to Syfy until last November. As of January, Syfy president original programming Mark Stern was quoted as saying that he the network brass were “trying to figure out the economics right now” and that he hoped those would be figured out. Now, the network has passed on the project as a regular series but is looking to do it as a digital one, while airing the already produced pilot on the network as a movie. “Though the vision for “Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome” has evolved over the course of the past year, our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned,” Stern said in a statement today. “We are actively pursuing it as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen. The 90-minute pilot movie will air on Syfy in its entirety at a future date.”

Well... This viral trailer may just be a way of finding ways to figure out the economics of it all. They just generated a massive buzz, while paying nothing. What they're really saying is they can't quite commit to it as is.

Anyways, they're definitely not saying it's dead. There at least will be a movie (which is the same status quo we were already familiar with).

Syfy didn't release the trailer; it was leaked. They seem to have stopped taking it down though, which I think they were this morning.

I'm sure if Blood and Chrome does well enough, they'll make more.

Yes. That's what they would say, now isn't it? Nobody can prove otherwise and it doesn't cost them a cent.

Very cost-effective marketing.

The way SyFy treated Caprica, I doubt it will. They'll probably bury it in their summer schedule with little promotion.

Maybe, but I think the larger problem with Caprica was that it wasn't a war series, but a family-centered drama. The early episodes were too disjointed and the series llst is footing as a result.

edit: The reason that SyFy isn't going to a series order is that they probably relaized that a series based on green-screen backdrops looks horrible. Think "Battlestar: Sky Captain."

They've said that a web series (it's original intended form) is still an option.

Yeah - they became friends in the inter-war period on a freighter. They became friends there. Adama got him reinstated when he became a Major. They served together since' then, on two different Battlestar's...pretty much anywhere Bill had a command - Tigh was his #2.

On a semi-related note...I just watched the episode (it was s4, ep. 15) where everything gets explained! It makes SO MUCH MORE sense now! I had forgotten a lot of the overall explanation relating to "John," and I hadn't even realized it...but it really was set up through out the entire show (which I have been yammering on and on about, on twitter and various forums through out my rewatch of the show, from season 1, onward) - but had forgotten to what extent. THis really is one of the most cohesive and complete series' I've come across. By the end...I don't think I'll have one unanswered question...because all of the other questions I had during my rewatch are already getting answered.

Truth. Much more fullfilling on rewatch. The only thing I still hated was the flashback episode (4.19, I believe) just when things were starting to warm up for the finale.

You've had the foreplay, you begin intercourse and then you go back to foreplay? What? No! :P
