I learned that treating the racist guy at work like shit isn't always the best strategy.

edit: But he did just apologize for saying he would fuck me up, so we're good.

He sounds like a charming fellow, and how rare to find someone who is violent and racist!

I learned today that blue cheese makes for an overpowering pie filling and that Azealia Banks isn't from North London. These two facts are unconnected, but were both learned within minutes of each other.

Hah! They are LOTS of hassle, but sometimes they're very well worth it.

After having to explain to four mothers why their daughter wasn't in the leading role I was just about ready to pack the whole thing in.

More a bunch of MIB looking guys standing around in a fielding, staring up into the sky trying to catch sight of a tiny little canister which then falls down and hits one of them on the head.

Going back to the earlier topic about the canisters of film there was a bit on a program last night on BBC all about it. It wasn't a load of blokes in a field but a highly skilled crew in an aircraft who would literally hook it from the air as it fell. The Americans abandoned this method after soviet submarines were seen surfacing at known drop locations.

The comedy mishaps alone are worth it.

I learned Martha Plimpton (from Raising Hope and other things) is Keith Carradine's daughter. I'm guessing other people knew this.

Probably Martha Pimpton and Keith Carradine, at least. I hope so, anyway, else you just slipped up there.

Heh. I've never had to deal with anything like that, thank God.

It was ridiculous Christian, I'm sure for a few it was their opportunity to live through their children.

I understood the view that some of them had, that those who got lead roles had lead roles in other productions. However that kind of information isn't passed on from one class to the next and I wasn't at the school last year to see the year 4 production. We auditioned them for a reason and gave roles based on their auditions...

Huh. Well, one of the things you'll find out in the near future is how ridiculously overblown some parents' attention to every little thing going on in their children's lives is. Juli has been at elementary school for a year, and it's been interesting to watch from the other side of the fence.

I have learned that when Ian McKellen stays in a hotel and they have a bibel in his room, he rips out the pages with Leviticus 18:22 from that Bible.

At first I was all "Huh, what's with that?" but then I googled the passage. I can see what his motivations are.

I understnd why he does it, but censorship isn't going to make people address the proble.

Highlighting it in red and sticking in an index tab saying "Still want to be a Christian?" might actually be better.

That is also a nice idea. But this isn't censorship, really, it's just a form of individual protest.

It's worse when you have to find your way into the toilet in the dark while really having to go...

This is when you are grateful that mobile phones are no longer just things to have telephone conversations on but are now Swiss Army Phones of Majestic Wonder.
