I'm going to take that comment seriously and run with it, if you don't mind? Because you're not really wrong but...

'QoS' was bloody annoying. It followed a really good Bond film and just wasn't good. Not "as" good, simply "not good".

However it did manage to to be more coherent and better staged than 'Hitman', obviously it cost a lot more but that really shouldn't matter. 'Hitman' had enough money to achieve its goals but it failed.

That's one way of looking at it. Another is to say that both films were equally bad in their own differing ways - Hitman was stupid, QoB was boring - but at least there were a few seconds of interest in Hitman because Olga Kurylenko did frontal nudity.

Coming from a gay man, Olga Kurylenko presence did keep the movies appealing.. Good lord she's gorgeous..

Been watching the first disc of Venture Bros season 4 this weekend. Good stuff. I like that it hasn't been as totally wrapped up in backstory like season 3 was. Also like the new character models, especially Hank.

Not a problem.

Sadly, not the solution either. :(

'Falkland' Most Daring Raid'

How did the UK launch a bombing raid on the airfield at Port Stanley during the Falkland's War? With great difficulty it seems.

So far the documentary has shown that the Vulcan bomber fleet was almost obsolete at the time, with spare parts scavenged from decommissioned aircraft and no active pilots trained in the mid-air refuelling that would be needed to get the operational plane from Ascension Island to the South Atlantic.

The journey was so long that the twelve tanker aircraft would be refuelling each other as well as the Vulcan!

The pilots in the show have described the refuelling process as, "Like shoving wet spaghetti up a cat's bum."

Quite how they know this...Posted Image

I'm watching it now. It's a real story of triumph over adversity... and the Argentinians haven't even entered the story yet!

This was before hi-tech simulator technology remember ... sometimes a cat and some wet spaghetti was all you had to practice for mid-air refuelling of a long-range bomber from a tanker plane.

I've watched Bergman's Hour of the Wolf 11 times in the past week. Trying to absorb it into my sub-conscious.

Just saw "Another Year". Fantastic movie about... well, basically about how tragic it is that even when you are happy, you can't do a thing when your friends and family are struggling just to get through the day. And as usually, a bunch of brilliant actors (Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen and Leslie Manville in the major roles, but the minor ones are no less good) used to their full extent. Man, I love Mike Leigh movies so much.

It's been a while since I saw that one but I remember thinking it was much more cynical than that. I don't recall that the happy couple came off well at all; they were self-absorbed, oblivious, a bit self-congratulatory and even a bit mean-spirited. But then my memory may be off.

I do recall liking the film quite a lot, however.

Took my wife to see The Lorax at her request. It's awful, just awful without a single redeeming element.

Watched Brick yesterday. Been meaning to see it for quite a while, and it was well worth it. Fun concept, nicely executed.

Me not so much. Too many outlandish and unbelievable concepts being thrown around. I liked the first 2 seasons because, for the most part, everyone acted SOMEWHAT believable...This season, the cannonball episode was the shark jumping moment for me.

Still brilliant, though.

I guess that will be our difference because I love how silly it has gotten.. If anything I think it is better written then the first season, still competing with the second season though

I really liked The Brothers Bloom. Not as good as Brick, but I didn't expect it to be.

I enjoyed it more the second time I watched, when I wasn't trying to figure everything out.

Can't wait to see Looper.
