It's true. His dad used to work with my dad. It's not all that uncommon in the southern United States.

Not saying 1/8th or 1/16th is all that big a deal.

Whatever it means to someone personally, I don't see it as relevant for a movie?

A friend of mine is one quarter Chinese, but she wouldn't get cast in a live action version of Mulan.

I know, I was just splitting hairs. Everyone around these parts has a little Cherokee in them.

In the radio show, I think Tonto was Potawatami which would be about as strange as a Cherokee in the Southwest.

Ultimately, most people only care if they look "injun" enough. Tonto could say he was Lenni Lenape and about 95 percent of moviegoers wouldn't bat an eye. The other five percent would be Eagle Scouts.

28 of Berlin Film Festival's Most Outrageous Movie Posters

THR picks the most amusing and interesting promotional materials from this year's Berlinale.

What’s not to love in this sci-fi horror combo from Bleiberg Entertainment? You’ve got you army of zombies, you’ve got your ragtag band of rebel robot and you’ve got the Dolph. And the title screams quality. The plot? Do you care? Something about Lundgren leading the robots to fight the zombies. Or something.

Posted Image

If the poster is to be believed, this twisted take on the Napoleonic wars from Russia’s Central Partnership is way more War than Peace. Still, there’s nothing like a pineapple grenade and a cutlass down your bloomers to liven up a staid costume drama. Surely the only one sheet this year with both Tolstay and Jean Claude Van Damme on the credits list.

What’s more evil than zombies? Islamic terrorist zombies! Highland Film Group’s Evil Dead-esque actioner brings back Osama Bin Laden as a zombie with light-bright eyes. A “who’s that?” of american actors head back to Afghanistan to finish the job the navy seals started and make Bin laden even deader.

He could be like the Chief in OUTLAW JOSEY WALES. I think he was supposed to be a relocated Cherokee.

OZOMBIE...? Really?

I guess it's better than ZOMBIN LADEN

What the-

Surely . those three will not actually get made?

This one sounds kinda nice, though:

Poor Harold. As if living on a meager pension wasn’t enough, the old codger is starting to turn into a walking dead. Apparently, in the low-budget mokumentary from EastWest Film distribution, this sort of thing is spreading. Bat-wielding Brit hooligans are patrolling the streets bashing stumbling seniors. Anything to keep those 401k contributions down.

The story of how Nicolas Cage lost his rare comic book featuring the first appearance of Superman may finally be told. At least Hollywood’s version of it.

Lionsgate has picked up Action No. 1, a heist comedy from writers and Reno 911! creators Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. The duo also is producing along with Peter Principato and Paul Young.

The story revolves around a group of nerds who attempt to steal Cage's copy of Action Comics No. 1, the landmark 1938 comic that introduced the world to the Man of Steel.

The theft of Cage’s comic made real-world headlines in 2000. The issue was missing until 2011, when it was discovered among the contents of an abandoned storage locker. It sold for a record $2.1 million at auction in November. To comic-book fans, the story of the book’s theft and its ultimate recovery is as thrilling as any tale of a stolen Monet or Degas.

The part of Cage was written with the real Cage in mind, but at this stage, it's unlikely that Cage will play himself. Jason Statham's name has surfaced in connection with the project, but sources say he is not involved. (It was not known who Statham would play; the actor already played the leader of a heist in The Bank Job but has yet to tackle the role of a comics fanboy.)

Statham? Can't they get an actor?

But seriously, there's really no reason why Cage shouldn't play himself, he still needs the money doesn't he?

Looking at Cage's recent for I reckon he'd mess up the role of Nicolas Cage.

Hilarious, but true. I'd cast Johnny Depp to play Cage before casting Cage, himself.

Okay, this trailing the trailer thing is getting silly. Also... third most anticipated movie of the year, at best. ;)

I suppose it depends on the specific demographics, but most people I know aren't even really aware of Prometheus. So yeah, 3rd would be very generous indeed. Also, I completely agree that a teaser for a trailer is pretty ridiculous. Still I am looking forward to the movie quite a bit.

Well it's certainly Ridley Scott's most anticipated film of the year.

I'm sad they didn't go with the obvious choice:
