This is why I come to MillarWorld; for the education.a jakey, is sort of like a gadgey, Sometimes they're NEDs. I believe I am correct here, but please ignore anything I might be saying, if Mike can clear up the nomenclature with some kind of official definitions.

I am going to throw this one out for those
of us in a relationship for some time. Since
I don't live with a woman, I can only guess:
Sometimes the man feels that since he
is the earner, bringing home the money
is enough, while the woman feels that
he should do more in the way of chores
and stuff.
So do certain chores and other things
go without saying in a relationship?
I would say yes, but as I said before
I am not in a relationship so what do I
know?

is enough,
We call those times "the fifties".

Al, you need to hook up with Lori from The Walking Dead TV show.
Never seen the show...
What I was asking was are certain chores and stuff expected
from you without saying they are or are household chores
specifically assigned?
I don't know about these things.

The only kinda defined chores we have is I wash the dishes and wifey irons. But it's not like it's a strict rule or we give each other hard time if chores aren't done. It hard to function as a couple if you treat each other that way (though all couples are different).

well, to save you the trouble. this week, she too made comments bordering on the hilarious in their levels of inaccuracy and unfamiliarity with the world as it is in this century. offensive generalisations are still offensive.Never seen the show...

you should also ask me about how it is wearing a kilt, playing bagpipes and living in a castle, or pick another stereotype based on the tiniest bit of info about another poster, because really? Sometimes you do seem genuine, but then sometimes I can't imagine how you'd survive in the real world with such closed-minded, antiquated attitudes, and assume that you must, for all your protestations that you're not, be playing a part.
you can tell I'm serious and pissed off because I'm alliterating and being more verbose than normal, without spelling anything wrong. (at least not that firefox spellcheck has picked up) oh, and because it's a fairly serious issue.
you wonder why there are few women who visit this board, and fewer still of those who venture into this thread? I think we have an answer.

You normally don't set defined roles Al - you see who's busy and who's not and pick up the chores accordingly. Whether it be cooking, cleaning, washing clothes or whatever. I'm also not sure that many modern couples have the husband earning more than the wife either.

Thanks Ohara... It's nice to hear.

Wearing a kilt?!? Really Craggy.
Close minded, antiquated attitudes?!? Really Craggy.
Playing a part?!? Yes...
Still, believe it or not, some guys feel that because they
work outside 40 hours and bring in most of the income
they feel exempted from doing other things.

I'm sure some women feel the same way too...
