Heard a pretty crazy story today. Jill's cousin was due to get married on Saturday. I use the word "was" as she found her fiance dead on the sofa this morning. 30 year old guy, dying in the middle of the night, less than a week before his wedding. I'm not particularly upset (I'd never met the guy and I barely know the cousin involved) but the story itself has still shaken me up what with me being a guy of a similar age also with an upcoming wedding. A bit of a cliche but hearing stuff like this does make you cling on to your loved ones a bit tighter.

Hrm, bit of a dark start to the new relationship thread. As a way of lighten the atmosphere here are some euphemisms that can be used insead of the word "sex".

She's not really shaken up either, she's only met the guy a couple of times. Sure, she's sad for her cousin but it hasn't had an effect on how she's feeling overall. Big thing is all of this has happened over in Australia (cousin emigrated to be with fiancée) and all her immediate family have travelled over for this big celebration only for this to happen. As for cause? No idea, nothing suspicious as far as we know but being half a world away makes getting up to date news pretty tricky. I think the family are waiting for autopsy reports.

Girl at work I've been crushing on for a couple years? I asked her out again. Via fucking Instant Messenger because I wasn't allowed to move through the building to the bit where she had to go to (after a certain time, folks gotta sit in one place, whereas the rest of the time we gotta sit in our team area...don't ask) and of course, she said no. Well, she said "I'm skint, can't wait to get paid, thank god it's a short month! Golly, that is most amusing! haha, woop!" or something like that .
I'd only asked if she fancied lunch some time.
Anyway, gave her my number in case she ever changes her mind, which isn't likely, I admit, but who knows. People claim to have "moments of clarity" so it could happen yet. :P

The girl I know, who said I look like Axl Rose, who now works at the strip club is still a possibility. Otherwise, guess I'm waiting til I'm in my 30s. Assuming I make it that long.

edit: whilst this thread title is without a doubt more accurate, especially when it concerns me, I did like the other one better.

So I've gone out with this girl 4-5 times. We have hung out at my house and gone on a couple of dates. I tried to make some moves to 'get it on' the other night. It was not successful. We went on a walk yesterday and we talked about it. It is because she has gone through a lot of stuff in the past 6 months and wants to take it slow and get to know me. I respect that. I like her, so I will take it slow and see where this goes.

In my world of enforced celibacy, it is payday on Wednesday, and I finish a week of training at work, so have somewhat tentatively arranged with a mate to go to see if this girl I know is working at this strip club she supposedly works at. It's likely they'll have most of their staff in on the first Friday of the month, right? F--- it, even if she's not, at least I'll get to see all loads of women turning me on without actually having any chance at them...actually...that's kinda every night out, regardless of the level of clothing or tackiness of the local. Hmmm?

Ack well, will be on a new team soon, will meet new people, maybe there be some new interesting people amongst those new people who interest me? If not, Mass Effect 3 is out soon, so I'll have plenty of distraction from looking for love. Instead I'll be looking for vengeance! arg!
