Not only did Aparo draw a damned good Joker, his Ayatollah Khomeini was also pretty awesome.

I'm an American, and thus refuse to learn simply stated truths.

You will soon learn that they aren't any help and you will go back to the old method

They're helpful to me. They allow you to have loads of web-pages open without having loads of instances of your browser in the task bar. It's just a tidier way of working.

Yeah me too, there are a lot of 'features' that are a waste of time but I could never go back from tabbed browsing. I can't really see any advantage to having 10 windows open.

The advantage I see to having 10 windows open is that they are all in my Task Bar. If I want one particular web page, I can switch to it in one click. If they are in tabs, I have to first click on the browser in the Task Bar and then click the tab I want -- twice the clicks, half as fast.
I spent a lot of time wavering between thinking SDI or MDI was a better way of doing an interface. I used to think MDI, but after trying both I am firmly on the side of SDI. It's funny to see how Microsoft have wavered on it, too. From pushing MDI as being a great idea, they finally went all SDI, and now they're SDI except in a few apps where they're not, just to be annoying. I wouldn't mind so much if they were consistent...

Try using tabs for a week, David. You'll never go back - I guarantee it.

Why would I use something that slows me down by half?
Give me one good reason and I will. I don't buy the tidier argument -- I have 7 buttons in my Task Bar at the moment, 4 of them browser instances, and I am not finding it untidy at all.
Thinking about it, when my computer was out of action recently (waiting for a new motherboard) I was using a borrowed machine that was set up for tabbed browsing, which I didn't bother reconfiguring. I used it for more than a week, and was extremely relieved to get my own properly-configured machine back.

I have learned that refried beans aren't always fried. Not even once sometimes.

I just learned there's a Hulk Hogan sex tape doing the rounds.
No I have not seen it.
Nor do I intend to.
Ever.
