so, my iGear weapons pack arrived yesterday, and it's a very nice set. Shipping involved exactly no frills - a padded envelope, with the weapon case in a bubblewrap bag. No invoice or anything in the bag. But the box in and of itself is very nice - loads of little details, a carry handle scaled to TF hands and so on. When you open the box the weapons are packed away in foam, which is another nice touch. The weapons are nicely detailed, but they're quite exactingly tooled to fit their character's hands - Perceptor's guns are too large to fit in Kup (or Drift's) hands. Also, one of Kup's hands is a little bigger than the other, so one of the guns will slide around a bit.

They do look awesome - have some photos:

I kinda picture Kup as being like Mike in Spaced here:

Meanwhile, Perceptor gets all Chow Yun Fat:

looking awesome!

Botcon is on this weekend. So far, looks like we're getting a US (and hopefully a European) release of the new MP Optimus Prime, with all his extras included. Oh an there's a bunch of exclusive repaints been announced that I won't be able to afford, worst of them is the black RTS Laser Prime repaint RID Scourge! :(

there's a cynical part of me that says "Beast Wars Megatron isn't in the new cartoon and doesn't have a couple of toys to sell"

in fact, it's pretty much the only explanation I can come up with that makes any sense. Plenty of other G1 characters I'd see recognised before Jacky.

I think Sky-Byte probably siphoned off a lot of Megatron's votes, whereas a lot of people would only vote G1 and early G1 at that, so flocked to Wheeljack.

Very annoyed to see that the decently coloured Bruticus is going to be an SDCC exclusive, while the rest of us have to make do with the gaudy sub-G2 coloured one.

I'll be happy if he just gets a European release...

We did alright for Generations and RTS last time around. Well, the early waves at least. I can see him making it. Presumably he's in the second wave of deluxes, given they haven't shown even prototypes for any others beyond Prime, Jazz and Shockwave yet.

We got most or all of Reveal the Shield, but Generations got cancelled after wave 2, IIRC. (We got Straxmount, Drift, Thrust, and WfC Prime, Megs and Bumblebee, and that was it. TFWiki says that's waves 1 and 2...) So I'm a bit worried that we won't see any of the FoC Generations figures.

I definitely saw some Soundwaves about as well, and he was wave 3. Though I don't think I saw any Red Alerts. Odd.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm not saying everyone'll have an easy time getting a full set, but I think they'll turn up. The later repaints, like Magnus, I don't think we'll get.

I've seen an Ed in the past from some other company that was a complete piece of crap, the range of poses and dynamism they managed to accomplish with this one is startling, especially considering this is one of the cheaper figures out there, I've seen faaaar worse running in the $50-100 range. They even include a little "scrap of fabric" piece that you can jam on to his elbow, so that when you replace his right forearm with his bladed arm it looks like his sleeve was shredded!

Yeah, Revoltechs are that awesome (and that cheap). They're kinda small, but they make up for it with amazing poseability, tons of accessories (pretty much every figure comes with a display base, you'll often get force field and energy blast effects as well as/instead of weapons), and amazing poseabiliy. I've loads of them if you want photos compared to other figures.

Oh, I have a couple myself (Gurren Lagann and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann), this one in particular just amazed me, what with all the potential catastrophes the character presents.

They've doen a lot of work impriving on their human characters since they did Dante and Revy way back when. Did you see the Revoltech Fraulein line? Some very impressive work there.

I seen a few pics of them in an ad for something somewhere. Very impressive. I do love the look of Revoltechs but the price and the fact that they're yet another line keeps my brain in check.

edit: Crikey jimminibob! Seibertron.com has pics of more new Fall of Cybertron transformers. I want them all!!!
