Approached in the right way, this could be a lot of silly fun.... it's out in the UK in April.

I remember a trailer for this ages ago. And it seemed quite different. Still, seems like it'll be a decent laugh. Not sure I'll go to the cinema to see it, but could be a good eventual night in with the lads picture.

I think it'll be madder. In fact the new 'Ghost Rider' film may be the only movie that approaches it on the "OMFG" scale of nuttiness.I'm already pretty sure this is going to be better than "Battleship"...
But I fear it will also be slow, too long, confused, and painfully unfunny in places.
'Battleship' on the other hand will probably just be dumb, overly familiar and obvious.
So you will be able to pick which "bad" you prefer, but neither's going to be a classic, long remembered by adoring fans.

Yeah, there's a good chance it'll not be as entertaining as it should be, with that concept. Still, I do love the fact that the movie was made at all. This is more or less funded by crowdsourcing, isn't it?

It might have been originally, back when Steve posted that first trailer a couple of years ago, but it's clearly had a major cash injection since then.
Ironically, this much slicker version has lost much of its original amateurish charm.

The Independent's Kaleem Aftab has praised Iron Sky, saluting its "over-the-top storytelling at its riotous and enjoyable best".
Yet The Guardian's Andrew Pulver called it "a giant damp squib" that was "not nearly as funny or cruel as its killer premise suggests".
London's Time Out magazine agreed with that assessment, calling it "a crude slapstick romp wholly lacking in charm, wit or excitement".
Not overly surprised. Shall probably check it out on DVD rather than going to the cinema.
