UFC 141
Here is what will happen
Lesnar vs Overeem- These are my 2 favorite heavyweights and they are meeting in a pivotal fight for both of them. This will end brutally and quickly. With all that Lesnar has been through with his illness ans surgery I am pulling for him to end the year triumphantly.
It won't happen!
Ubereem is a Monster and he looks even more imposing now than he has ever been.
RD 1 2:53 Ubereem by KO
Jeffrodamus wishes he is wrong about this but we all know that never happens.

Did you pick Fitch to win in a decision, too?

I think everyone picked Fitch to win a decision tonight. That was a huge surprise.
Overeem did exactly what was expected of him, by the book. Not sure why Lesnar hesitated on shooting the double leg.
JDS vs Overeem should be a lot of fun.

What say you now unbeliever?
NEVER mock Jeffrodamus!
I am happy that Brock got the opportunity to display his athleticism and toughness in the world's greatest fighting sport. He spoke about his competitive passion being unfullfilled in wrestling and he wanted an outlet for it. I don't think Lesnar was a 100% after his second fight with Mir but he is too classy to ever use that as an excuse. To think the man went in at less than prime for Carwin and still won says a lot.
I hope Brock enjoys retirement and doesn't do anything, and by anything I especially mean, wrestling, for the year. His appearance in the new WWE game shows that relationship is repaired and if need be he can do a run toward Wrestlemania and a few shows in Japan next year to set him up for the rest of his life.

OK. You guys. Whoa. Seriously.
UFC 142's main card might have very well been the most awesome top-to-bottom card ever. Every fight was fun, every finish memorable. There's Jean-Claude Van Damme stuff there. I'm not being hyperbolic, there is.
You seriously need to catch up on it if you missed it. The thread has been quiet so I'll spoil nothing. It was a LOT of fun!

Dude, Dudes All- WATCH it! Get it wherever you have to! It was crazy good! Make sure you see the 5 minutes immediately after the main event, it's the stuff of movie endings!

VITOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRR
I didn't even know Vitor was fighting and when I found out it was against Rumble I was a little worried. I am happy he pulled out the win after Rumble just ran wild for most of the fight.

All MMA fans put on the NFL hats or what?
The Diaz vs Condit fight did not disappoint, it was a great, technical fight, highest level of strategy in action- but it was the upset everyone dreaded. Condit takes it home based on more and better striking, even if he backpedaled all 5 rounds he did it intelligently and slowly became the aggressor as the fight closed.
Condit and GSP fighting does not have even half of the hype behind it that Diaz vs GSP would've had, but the kid deserves it and he's got the interim belt now. The interesting thing will be to see how the logistics of training will change, since both Condit and GSp train at Greg Jackson's.
OK, post fight press conference about to start...

What a ridiculous baby Diaz is.

Well I was not expecting that. Admittedly, I was already looking past this fight expecting Diaz to be moving on to face GSP. Gotta hand it to Condit though. He fought a great fight. His game plan worked perfectly.
Before this fight I was even thinking that Diaz stood a chance against GSP but after seeing this...not a chance in Hell.

I didn't expect the fight to go exactly that way but I did think Condit was going to win. Condit is a well rounded and smart fighter and Diaz really is not. His complete inability to make any changes to a gameplan that wasn't working (unless he wanted to plod forward and get blasted by leg kicks over and over) was pretty shocking to see in such a highly ranked fighter though. Condit showed how ineffective Diaz's striking is when the other guy is able to just move out of the way before being trapped against the cage. His corner were really bad too, telling him he was winning easily and making no suggestions about how to do better. Going into the last round his brother told him he had won at least three rounds and had the fight won. Even if he actually believed that (which he might since the Diaz brothers always think they are winning fights) it was still a dumb thing to tell him.
And the post fight tantrum was really sad. I have a bad feeling the UFC are going to bend over backwards to give him what he wants to try and make him happy though.
Condit had a good quote about the fight: "He was talking, I was landing punches.”

Fellas- there is a live UFC on FUEL event right now, yes, on a Wednesday. Facebook prelims are on right now and the FUEL thing starts at 8pmET.
Do not really care about the main event. Diego had his moment.
Looking forward to Stipe Miocic delivering on the hype he rode coming in to the UFC, Herman vs Struve (Herman should win it) and Ivan Menjivar's performance, always a little dynamo.

I think Diego is probably going to get knocked out. He is awfully one dimensional these days, getting by on toughness and swinging wild punches. The only area in which I am confident he is better than Jake Ellenberger is submissions, but I just don't see him even trying to make the best out of that advantage.
I know it isn't a fight that has a lot of mainstream appeal but I am looking forward to Edgar vs. Henderson more than any other fight this year. I think that is going to be a really exciting fight.

Edgar vs Henderson is going to be a no-gassing, non-stop, speedy fight. If Henderson can bypass Edgar's boxing, he'll be competitive. If he tries to exchange with Edgar, I don't know that Henderson will be a match, good as he is. His better chances are grappling.
That said- main card is on. MSG me if, you know, finding FUEL is a problem, not that I can solve it, but I know a guy who knows a guy

I think Edgar is going to win but I also think Henderson is at the level where he isn't going to be made to look bad at all. Whoever wins is going to have to really earn it.
I hope for Edgar's sake he isn't dumb enough to try and submit Henderson. Henderson's recent fights have shown that to be a complete waste of time. Worse than that, Henderson seems to let his opponents put him in submissions as a way to improve his own position. Any time he gets caught in something the other guy ends up getting the worst of it.
I liked the killer instinct Edgar showed in his last fight. I'm a fan but I did not imagine him knocking Maynard out. Henderson seems to have a real hard head and great recovery though.
Nice wild one round fight to start of this Fuel card.

See? Stipe has an outstanding pedigree, but that was not a dominant performance. Against the Roy Nelson's and other gatekeepers of the UFC, he's not going to survive that first stunning punch. Why is a Golden Gloves guy SO stiff? I'm not sold on Stipe, like him, but can't see him as a contender yet.

That fight was like watching a game of Rock'em Sock'em Robots. They just stood there for 40 something seconds punching each other in the head with their chins up until one got knocked down. If the guy who wants to be Cro Cop wants to make a run at it he needs to learn some defence.
I saw some people suggest that he fights Barry if he won tonight. If he fought Barry like that he would be knocked out fast.
