Hello!
I am currently, somehow, making a living as a full time artist doing paintings and murals and such. I used to create comics, and even self published 6 funny books about 8 years ago. I realized I was horrible at sequential art and quit creating them.
Recently I have decided to make an attempt to do comic book cover work on the side. Here is a sample of some of my paintings. I was just looking for any feedback or ideas. Also, if anyone has any tips on how to approach being a Cover Artist, I'm open to all suggestions! Thanks.

Fantastic work. My guess for cover art, would be work with the little guys till the big guys want you. Although it's been mentioned they typically save covers for those who do interior work as a reward.

Thanks!
I've spent a number of years trying to create my own VERY RECOGNIZABLE Style. Almost a branding of sorts. I've been doing painting commissions full time for about 3 years now, and I'm able to make a decent living, but honestly, I really want something more. Like I said earlier, I always wanted to be a comic artist, but the idea of creating so many pages on a monthly basis has lost it's appeal to me over the years and I prefer to focus on a single image or idea. That's pretty much where I decided Cover Artist would be a good thing for me.
I'm doing my best relearning sequential art, studying the basis of all the elements involved with a comic's building blocks, and I realize I have a number of hard years ahead, but in the end it's going to be worth it. I love comics and know in the end I'll end up in the industry somehow.
Right now, I'm just at a point where I'm looking for critiquing and people to bounce ideas off of, and thank you again for the kind words.
Here's where I display and sell the majority of my work

ALSO, does anyone has any good links to tips, creator interviews, tutorial, or any other useful information on this subject?

I love your stuff. Genuinely wish I had an upcoming issue that would suit your style.
As a point of interest, do you have a rough price for doing covers and pin-ups?

As of right now I'm spending about the first 3 hours of each day practicing, studying, and basically learning from different sites on how to create and tell a story in a proper way. Right now, I'm doing covers and pin-ups basically for free. The more I can get my stuff out into the comic industry, the better. Promotion is promotion! If you were looking to have something done, I would be interested without question. Just shoot me an email at nicholasburgdorf@gmail.com and let me know what you were looking for!
As far as turn around time, it all comes down to being able to fit the time of creating something in to my normal art work day. I generally ask for about 3 to 5 weeks. My day job of painting keeps me VERY BUSY!

I'm actually very interested in both a cover and a pin up for two of my projects. I'll need to contact my creative partner first, but I hope to send you an e-mail soon.
