Did anyone else think that during the final battle
Spoiler
I thought that it would have been an insanely ballsy ending and would have given people some to really complain about.

Glad that the Extended Cut is going to be free. Hope it clears up the problems I had with the endings, as best it can without changing them.

Anyone played the Overlord DLC on ME2? I'm wondering if it's any good. Also, I see that I have The Arrival...but don't remember playing it or even buying it. That's the bit with the asteroid that destroys the relay the Reapers are going to use to sneak into known space right? I'm sure my ME3 playthrough referenced that as happening without Shepard. Did they put it out free recently, or does it come with any of the ME3 stuff I might have got?

It was okay. It had some creepy moments and some nice action set pieces but was nothing special and the end boss was incredibly annoying.

Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard

  • Krogan Vanguards are a brutish specimen. These fully mature krogan might be old and slow, but their biotic charge ability makes up for it. Their heavy shields and ability in close makes them a menace on the battlefield./quote]

Krogan Vanguard? Asari Justicar? Geth Infliltrator and Engineer? Sounds good. But adding the Batarians is lame. Because Batarians suck hard. Oh, and the pack is free? That's pretty awesome!

Batarians are cool! I'm glad we get the chance to play as them.

Bah! Batarians are the scourge of galaxy. But if they've got cool powers I'll probably change my mind.

Supposedly the Batarian soldier has some kind of "capture net" ability. Which when you consider their reputation as slavers is both fitting AND hilarious.

Personally I want to see what the Kroguard/Vankrogan gets besides Charge. Nova seems like it would be way overpowered considering Krogan durability...maybe some Lift Grenades. Or Pull.

I won't need the DLC. When I finish my mega ME1, ME2, and ME3 "no species dies on my watch" playthrough and have the forces of the galaxy massed, my Shep will sleep with his LI and I will turn off the game. "And the united forces of the galaxy, moose-stomped the Reapers back into hiding and Shep and Kaiden/Jacob[I havent' made up my mind yet] will live happily ever after."

I win.

The Indoctrination Theory for MS3's ending makes for an interesting read (LINK).

indeed it does. I doubt Bioware is going with it, but it'd be funny if this new ending they're releasing at least raised the question.

It's something I considered as the end of the game neared. Particularly after Shepard's last dream where he sees himself with the boy. At that point I started to wonder if it was going end up being like the Futurama episode Obsoletely Fabulous where Bender is reprogramed to like the next model of robots by experience a fantasy world.

Well just finished first play through, wow underwhelmed by that ending to I ended up choosing to say the least. I went for the middle option with this Shep. I was rising around so it was easier to just hold the analog stick down, rest of the game was good fun though.

Going to replay the game again, after completing ME2 Play through with my main Shepard.

Protip: Do NOT spend credits on normal (i.e. Recruit/Veteran/Spectre) packs after downloading the Resurgence DLC today! Bioware is going to put out a special pack that supposedly contains only DLC stuff sometime today or tonight. I've heard stories of people saving up obscene amounts of credits in anticipation for today only to spend them all on packs that have no chance of containing new characters or weapons.

P.S. Here is the ability list for the new classes:

Asari Justicar (Adept):
Biotic Sphere
Pull
Reave

Krogan Battlemaster (Vanguard):
Biotic Charge
Barrier
Carnage

Batarian Soldier:
Ballistic Blades
Blade Armor
Inferno Grenade

Batarian Sentinel:
Blade Armor
Shockwave
Submission Net

Geth Infiltrator:
Tactical Cloak
Hunter Mode
Proximity Mine

Geth Engineer:
Geth Turret
Hunter Mode
Overload

Damn, I just spent a good chunk of credits yesterday. Oh well, it's not too hard to get more. Will have to download the DLC soon.

Been playing a lot of MP, got level X weapons for all the starter stuff, but still need the more high-end stuff. I still love the Asari Vanguard, and the Quarian Engineer is pretty fun too. I like the new DLC levels, although they have to be played carefully or they can get overwhelming. Haven't unlocked any of the new classes yet but the only one that interests me is the Justicar.

I also started a new single player campaign as an ###hole Renegade, always making the jerk choices. Apparently if you pic the "lots of people died" stat in character creation about half the ME2 cast is missing, which makes the side missions a lot more sad. I do love the Vanguard though, I feel both overpowered and highly at risk in SP, for some reason. Like when I'm doing well, I'm rolling enemies in half the time it took my Infiltrator, but at the same time I die more often, since I occasionally find myself in serious trouble. ;) I picked Energy Drain as my bonus power, which is a great compliment to the Vanguard toolkit since it allows him to drop shields while regenning his own.

Can't complain about free stuff.

Oh, people find a way.

I've unlocked a Batarian Sentinel and played a game or two with him.

The Pros: He's a very durable character when you're fairly leveled up (my sentinel class was already at 15 when I unlocked him), my shields and health are each over 1000. The Heavy Melee is pretty great. The Asari's is still my favorite, but this one is pretty devastating to a single opponent and obviously you can level it up to be even more so. The Capture Net power (or whatever it's called) it kind of amusing.

The Cons: His powers basically suck hard. I think you have an armor power that also increases your melee, which is nice enough, but none of the powers are in any way useful against boss level enemies. Shockwave continues to be what I consider the most useless power in the whole game. And the net power isn't even as good as Stasis because it can be dodged (while Stasis can't be).

Essentially, the character is decent fun if you want to just run around on Bronze levels and punch the crap out of people (having the Geth Pulse shotgun helps too). He's essentially useless at long range, in my opinion. And I would dare try to roll with him on a level higher than Bronze.

Oh, and I've come around completely on Stasis as a power. The thing is, you have to level it to 6 and put the "bubble" option on it. As a single target "zap" power it's fairly lame, too hard to aim when you really need it, too basic, but as a persistent AoE bubble it's insanely good. It works like a spider's web, it captures several idiot enemies at a time, it hits enemies through thing barriers, it even takes down Guardians behind their shields, it's great. I ran rounds with my Vanguard in which I used Stasis far more often than Charge. It's brutally great against Cerberus, although it's much less useful against the other two, since they have a lot more armors.
