I am now watching Newsnight.

My blood pressure is probably best described as stratospheric.

Watching Elektra.

I still really enjoy this film, don't really get why some people seem to dislike it so much.

I'm guessing from that they're extremely negative.

Isn't that kind of the point of the thread - to share your thoughts?

I've downloaded it but haven't watched it yet.

You're not always negative - you like City Slickers and anything featuring Keira Knightley.

Anyway, it's possible to make negative comments fun for others to read, thus turning a negative into a positive!

Plus we always love a nice rant here and there..

I was watching A Monster in Paris.. Had to stop in the middle of it but hope to finish it soon.. I thought it was a well put animated movie, kinda surprised it didn't get as much recognition but kinda not.. It did have some very beautiful musical scenes and I would say the film score was worth of an oscar nomination.. at least for best original song

Play.com sent me my DVDs of The Proposition and Dale & Tucker vs. Evil. Now I just need to find the time to watch them.

Tonight's a series night again. Probably Parenthood and Modern Family.

Just wasted 2 hours watching We Need to Talk About Kevin.

Full of thudding foreshadowing and heavy-handed symbolism, it was almost impossible to care about the characters because everything seemed so stylised and unreal. Kevin himself was barely even one-dimensional - a thoroughly evil caricature from the moment he was born, with not even an attempt at explaining his behavior.

I went in expecting some deep examination of motherhood and alienation, but instead it was like an "arty" version of The Omen.

Which is interesting because that's exactly what the trailers made it seem like but then all the reviews suggested that it wasn't.

I really enjoyed Dale & Tucker - much more fun than I expected. The two lead performances absolutely make the film.

I thought the leads were good even if the film was pretty badly written.

It's a great film, I thought it was hilarious! I agree it wasn't one fo the best written films plot wise but character and joke-wise: golden. The only part that really spoiled the film for me was the typical hollywood love interest angle. The film would have been the exact same if not better if
Spoiler

But it also has hilarious and gloriously over the top violent deaths. WIN! And the two leads definitely make the film.

I thought the romance was fine but was annoyed that they were too afraid to go full retard (ie commit to the concept). Dale isn't a red neck, he's a "special" red neck who's actually really smart. So being sweet and kind wasn't enough since he was a red neck, he had to be "special" for her to fall in love with him

Finally got around to watching "Breaking Bad". Incredible stuff once I got past the first half of the 1st season. The episode where they get stranded in the RV in the desert should have been (if it wasn't) nominated for a Globe.

Just saw My Week With Marilyn. Extremely lightweight, and I didn't believe a word of it. It came across like some kind of wish-fulfilment.

It's worth watching if only for the scene with the bees. I think Tudyk is a really gifted comic actor.
